Dear Angel
I watched this on Monday: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/11/10/glenn-beck-reveals-the-life-changing-pivot-point-he-has-kept-hidden-from-almost-everyone-for-five-years/
That night, I wrote this:
Dear Glenn,
Are you our angel? Is it possible that the miracle you've been talking about is our miracle? I hope what you shared yesterday is the answer we've been waiting and praying for... for almost 30 years. Amazing that something so personal for our family could be given to us by a stranger. And not just that, but a public figure prophesying of miracles to millions of people. Our miracle?
I have never been unable to sleep, mainly because I am the mother of 5 kids, president of my LDS church's women's organization, and frankly, I'm getting over a cold. Your message and the events of the last few weeks compel me to get the thoughts out of my head and onto paper.
My dear, tormented husband is up too. The last year, he's only been able to get a couple hours of sleep due to work related stress. However, even though he tries so hard, he received notice from his boss that he will be let go. They know of his pain condition and have been really understanding but even he acknowledges that he cannot go on at this pace much longer. Thus, after 12 years of marriage and only 2 years of full-time work, he will return again to a slower pace.
At the age of 9 (or 10?), he was hit by a car on a busy road and thrown dozens of feet. Doctor's marveled that he only received a concussion and he was sent home after brief hospital monitoring. Thus has been his story for almost 30 years. Nobody in the medical field has been able to diagnose or treat him. The head pain is constant and intense, more like pressure and not a traditional headache or migraine. When he exerts himself, often he will collapse and his body will convulse as he holds his head in the fetal position. The mental dysfunction is sometimes the saddest as it masks the supremely intellectual man I know and love. One of the saddest things for me is when depression darkens his eyes and body, usually when he is unemployed and not moving forward.
Last night, in bed, I held him and told him how amazing he is. He snorted at that because wants to do what he cannot do for the boys in his care at the youth treatment center where he is employed. I noted how deeply he loves and his gifts for empathy, listening, and helping other see and build connections within themselves and their families. I emphasized how amazing it is he isn't a bachelor living in his parent's basement but has a family, higher education, and our first home we bought a year ago in our little promised land of Preston, ID.
The Lord has carried and is carrying my husband. We know and feel that on a daily basis. Hundreds of thousands if not millions of people have prayed and fasted in his behalf. Miracles have happened over and over to get him where he is at today. We have felt peace and we feel peace even now...that the Lord has something wonderful in store for him and to trust him. I have hope that the miracle doctors, diagnoses, and treatments that have been prayed and fasted for is at the Carric Brain Center.
You are my favorite public figure and you've touched my life greatly in the past but I've been very busy lately and the Lord wanted my focus elsewhere. A few weeks ago, your famous "How do you do it, America?" late night post came onto my feed. I was so moved, I responded. I subscribed to theblaze.com/tv and followed you there as well as on facebook comments on a daily basis. I loved the new direction I saw you taking and felt compelled spiritually to be a part of it. Could it be that YOU were meant to be a part of OUR story? I pray to God it is so.
The God that knows you and heals you is the God that knows my husband and will heal him too, as well as all of us. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for sharing a story so deeply personal for you. How amazing that you could be the messenger, for a miracle prayed so intensely for to be granted on such a grand scale... I hope.
Thank you, dear angel.
I love you, Wendy
