It’s sometimes funny to see cis people confront the trans experience™ and see how it really can be frustrating lol
We had this meeting with an outside gov person who I introduced myself to as Mr. _, it’s been Mister and he in all the correspondence but she was dead set on calling me Ms. _ after hearing my voice. My supervisor is there which leads to this repeated experience:
Gov person: Thank you, Ms. _
Me: (Says nothing because I know she won’t respect it and I don’t have time for this)
Supervisor: Excuse me, but he is MISTER _
Gov person: ??? Yeah, she’s Ms. _
And repeat like five times more and I can sense my supervisor being like wtf are you not getting about what I’m saying?! Meanwhile I’m like thank you very much for the support, welcome to the club lol
Middle schoolers reactions to my transness is kind of hilarious because some of them totally get it and some of them are so confused and a few of them are like actively mad about it lmao
5th grader: You need to go into the city and get a full make over so you look like a lady (in reaction to my short hair cut, I am aiming for a masculine appearance)
6th grader: Ooooh I love your look, I see exactly what you're going for.
7th grader: Lmao remember when I accidentally thought you were a 'Ms.' at the start of the year? I can't believe I made that mistake Mr. _
I am so excited about winter break and I have been having the best week so far! I got to see my first snow since moving (and it did not snow where I used to live), I had a great performance review, and the chili peppers I planted from seed have their first red chili! It’s been a great week to reflect on my growth and think about progress!
Finally a fun day in class, movie, games, no math. We living the dream.
