Her whole body was tense, and you could swear anger was just radiating off of her skin. Near white knuckles gripped her knife tightly as Serafina pushed her way through the store and it’s debris. They had made their way in there to get supplies, and get out. When they split, they were sure no one else was there. Clearly, they had been mistaken.
“I have my reasons, Dakota. Don’t patronize me.”
Serafina wasn’t about to get into detail as to why she was justified in killing that man, and it was likely she wouldn’t even tell Dakota. It was in self defense, and that was it. Granted, she did beat up the corpse a bit, even after driving her knife through his skull, and that was likely what had intially concerned Dakota.
“He tried to ... “
She paused.
“He tried to hurt me.” Was all she left it at.
She didn’t want to talk about it.
“Let’s go. Now.” She murmured, shoving a few more water bottles and cans of food into her backpack before heading to the door.
