Son of Francesca Jennings and Jeffery Maynard (a school guidance councilor and a restaurant waitress)
Older brother to Karen Maynard
A massive party animal. It's one of the reasons Ava dumped him.
Lives for Friday nights. If there’s a party within a 10-mile radius, he either knows about it, is invited to it, or somehow becomes the reason it gets shut down.
His friend group consists of Jonathan Smith, Connor Clarke and some other kids he met through his mother.
Known for being very reckless but charming. He can charm his way out of almost anything.
Popular among the girls in school, though many find him superficial or way to flirty.
Teachers know him very well and not in a good way. He’s constantly getting warnings, detentions, or being dragged to his dad’s office.
He’s weirdly protective of his younger sister Karen. He’ll tease her relentlessly, but won't let anyone else say a bad word about her.
Academics aren’t his strong suit. He's barely passing any classes besides gym.
He drinks and smokes a lot.
Ava's friends never liked him from the beginning. Especially her closest friend Sierra Lane.
His jealousy issues are bad and concerning. He's never done anything violent but he's stalked his passed girlfriends befor.
He was furious when Ava broke up with him. Especially when he heard she moved on almost instantly (it was seven months after the breakup)
He became even more angry when she moved on with a girl. For some reason he hated that more then her moving on with some other guy.
Even at his worst, Carson’s reputation is important to him. He’s a jerk, but he’s not the kind of jerk who hits girls. He’d rather die than be branded as someone who lays a hand on a woman.
Her being with a girl makes his anger worse. Because now he can’t “solve” it in the way he normally would. Beating the other guy bloody to prove he's the only choice for her
Around his friends, he plays it up like he doesn’t care about Ava at all but if her name comes up, his whole mood shifts before he covers it with a joke.
His bullying towards Ava isn’t constant, It comes and gose. Sometimes he ignores her completely, and other times he goes out of his way to make comments at her.
Carson is the kind of person who could change if he really wanted to but only after hitting a serious low point.
Son of Lorraine Wallace and Mr Beltran
His mom is a night shift nurse and his father isn't in the picture.
Was raised by his 27 year old sister Francesca Beltran
He's not super talkative and gets picked on for supposivly being mute.
Obsessed with Depeche Mode, The Cure, and Violent Femmes
He treated her better than any boyfriend she’d have after him.
Sierra LOVED him. He was perfect for her best friend and such a kind gentleman. She almost cried when they broke it off.
No one knows why Ava went after him, mostly because he was younger then her.
Some guys in Ava’s grade hated Bobby for pulling a older girl.
Bobby never looked at her like she was “too much.” That alone was enough to hook Ava to him
He didn’t believe she was actually interested in him until Ava asked him to hang out after school.
He’s really into skateboarding, though he’s constantly breaking his boards because he tries tricks he’s nowhere near ready for.
Always smells faintly like cigarette smoke from being around older kids, even though he doesn’t actually smoke.
He never pressured Ava to do anything she wasnt comfortable with, not once. He was respectful and very protective.
He knew Ava liked girls before she did. He helped her understand her attraction a lot better thanks to his personal knowledge and the knowledge from his older sister who's a lesbian.
They broke up because of timing and personal stuff. It was mutual and sad, but understanding.
He never said a bad word about Ava. He knew they weren't meant to be and he was okay with that. He's just happy they tried
