Okay so Carter's favorite thing that Douxie ever gave him was, in fact, his scimitars/shield. Douxie figured that with Carter deciding to go off on his own to do demigod stuff while he's in Arcadia keeping an eye on the Trollhunter, then his boyfriend should have weapons and armor that repels magic. So the scimitars are different than Carter's semi-sentient sword we've affectionately dubbed Sword. The scimitars were designed, built, and enchanted by Douxie specifically for Carter. When not in use the blades retract/flip into the hilts for easy storage/hiding. Think like Rayla's swords from The Dragon Prince. Carter designed a belt to clip them onto so he can be hands free for some good old fashioned ✨wrestling your enemies to death✨. He said the belt clips made him feel like a Jedi. Douxie thought it was adorable. Anyway. The scimitars actively repel magic so Carter can effectively and quite literally slice through spells. Douxie figured that if Carter was gonna be on his own and possibly be fighting wizards and not have Douxie there to help with magical mishaps, he may as well have a weapon that can battle magic. The shield does pretty much the same thing. Carter initially designed it to be a retractable shield so he didn't have to carry one around all the time but Douxie fixed it to look more like his own vambrace and function to repel magic attacks because he wants to keep his boyfriend safe 🥺
Douxie's favorite thing Carter ever gave him was actually his first ever electric guitar. When electric guitars first became a Thing in the 1950s, Carter immediately went and got one for Douxie because Douxie likes music and loud instruments. It was PERFECT. The guitar is very old now and not exactly playable but Douxie keeps it in their little cabin thats between New York and California. Everytime he looks at it he's filled with alot of joy and just smiles because Carter knows him so well and that gift just means so much to him 🥺💜💜
