A sigh of relief left her lips once she set the hot heavy baking tray down on the stove. The comforting smell of cookies filled her nose and brought her back down to earth. That and the unfrosted batch of cupcakes she had sitting on the kitchen counter. Frosting in one bowl and her favorite sprinkles in another. Baking was one of the only ways Mars could feel more grounded. That or drawing and writing, but unfortunately her usual stress rituals weren't working so baking it was. To say she went a little overboard with the baking was un understatement, but at least she talked herself out of adding another batch of brownies she almost convinced herself to make. She had to do something, anything to get her mind off of what happened at the dance. If one of the bodies that had been found was Jae, she didn't know what she'd to. Hearing a knock at her front door pulled her out of her thoughts. "Come in!" She called pulling her oven mitts off. Wait...maybe she should've locked the door? She knew who it was but given the events of the dance, Mars was going to have to start being a lot more careful.
