Mystic is the biggest team in my area. Followed by Valor, then Instinct. My wife, when she joined, could not join any team other than Instinct because of the team balance - and that was like a month after launch, at most. We have a lot of people who have multiple accounts over here, but almost none of them have more than 3 and they’re usually all different teams.
Having accounts on different teams makes sense because it means you’re always in a position to help yourself and other players, and it’s in your interests to make sure there’s at least one gym of each colour in your area at all times.
On the other hand, I think we might actually only have about five real Instinct players in the whole town and the entire team presence is just them and all of their fucking accounts. There are more actual Mystic people but the gyms are pretty much always nearly all blue during the day because there are just so many fucking Mystic accounts that they more or less have to use all of the gyms if they’re all going to get in. It’s ridiculous.
That said, it’s not so bad now that we have six gyms. To begin with we only had two. You might imagine how much fun that was.
