Card of the day - Annihilation This deck is a box of wtf. If you are not familiar with the folks at Arcane Bullshit @arcanebullshit you should be. They are a truly surreal experience http://www.ArcaneBullshit.com I bought this deck some time back and I pull it out sometimes when wtf is in fact the mood. Featuring cards that range from “Coffin Full of Tacos Full of Snakes” to “Orgy” to “Shitty Acoustic Guitar Guy,” you never really know what will come out of this high-quality printing massive deck trimmed in black. Like, ever. And I love it and this artist. To quote the little black book that is in this box of madness: “The adorable baby basset hound symbolizes unknowable pain and suffering. Although falsely described as ‘a good boy’ by the 18th century charlatan Elvi Elphi, his appearance typically signals nothing but desolation and horrors of the highest order.” We are in the Omnicron wave and it’s hitting a lot of my people or my people’s people. Numbers in NY keep going up. This is the time to step the fuck back from dinner plans on a personal level and to examine how to help each other on a collective level. Get heads out of our collective asses, this shit is not going away. Omnicron is not COVID being ‘a good boy’ by becoming less deadly, because the dog is still shitting in the living room of life. Card of the day - The Tarot This was an amazing birthday gift! The Wandering Star Tarot from Cat Pierce @thewanderingstartarot caught my eye back on Kickstarter. Having the deck go mass-market, I am delighted to have it in hand. Though the art only shows individuals who are thin and trends towards more (assumed) female bodies, I am delighted by the diversity it does offer in worldwide cultures. What catches my eye the most is that each piece includes the keywords woven in. It would make a great learning deck. The deck also includes two additional Major Arcana cards, The Mother Stat and The Creator, that weave in resounding yes/no options and directions for the next cycle of life after The World has marked the end of where we have come. For my deck quality nerds, I am in love with this paper stock. It seems like it might scratch easily, but it shuffles like a breeze and the texture is silken but not too slippery. The Tower card in this deck does not feature the iconic people flying from a broken building, but instead the flames on the upper half of the building struck by lightening have not yet destroyed the flowers and vines below. Things will never be the same again, but I find myself reminded of the house fire I had in Alaska where the porch caught fire but never came into the house itself. The world needed rebuilt, reassessed, and we got to choose whether things might change so it never happened again… or not. Your world has elements that are or might be burning down. Things are changing. The question becomes how we want to move forward. If you do not address the flames around you, it will take it all down with you. For some of you, that is *really* important. Burn that shit to the ground, and it can provide space to reinforce your foundations before you build anew. However, if that is not your story, what are you doing right now to douse the flame? Are you adding fuel, adding water, or calling for help? Look at what you need to release, and what you need to fight for. You are on a clock.
