In the 1930’s, this was how you carved your Thanksgiving turkey! 🦃 So excited to add this very rare vintage beauty to the shop. Nowadays most carving platters are made of wood and come in board form, but back in the early 19th century they favored large heavy duty (this one weighs over 5lbs!) ceramic dishes with juice wells to catch all the drips and decorated edges to dazzle the eye. Pretty and practical, this one was made by Harker Pottery in East Liverpool, Ohio which is considered the oldest pottery in America. At the center of the holiday table for over 75 years, its fun to imagine its lifetime of parties spent amongst family, friends and mealtime merrymakers.
