Habrá días en que las calles se verán más largas y brillantes. Días en los que nadie se fije en las casas abiertas   ni en los perros dormidos  . Días en que los insectos engordarán con el aroma a pan en el aire. Días que solo se los distinga por las flores que traiga el viento. Días sin boca y sin manos. Habrá días que ya fueron Días con solo una canción. Días que vendrán de a dos, que se repetirán para dos en lugares distintos. Habrá días que ya fueron, Los habrá.

CASAS PINTADAS (PAINTED HOUSES):  The colorful painted houses in the Praça Cantão area of the Santa Marta community in Rio de Janeiro began in 2005 with the efforts of two Dutch artists, Haas & Hahn, who partnered with favela residents in painting buildings and creating public art. Supported by the Firmeza Foundation, which encourages the creation of artwork in unexpected places, this project aims to change the image of favelas through engaging the community and especially local youths in painting projects -- "Not just to beautify, but also to create a dialogue with their surroundings." Check out the video on the work of these artists.
