Given the height of the other person, he really should have been difficult to miss, especially with the odd facial features and what she really believed to be quite an unfortunate dye job. Add in the fact that these features typically belonged to a certain personality Millie had taken to avoiding, and the figure really should have served as a warning signaling her to move away or at least cross to the other sidewalk.
Unfortunately, the large stack of papers and books shuffling about in her arms took up most of her thoughts and her line of sight, an impairment made bad enough when walking normally and much worse with her mildly frantic pacing.
So she didn't really notice his presence until she smacked right into him, a sudden blunt force that had her tripping over herself before she had really even figured out what happened. And after, she was less concerned with determining who he was so much as the papers sprawled along the concrete, so close to puddles and cars and trampling feet.
