#cascading kittens

Cascading Kittens - all finished blocking! It did end up longer than I expected but that worked out well as it's more of a tunic length and goes well with leggings. The sleeves blocked out wider than I'd like - hard to see in the selfie angle though, and wearing the sweater over a shirt makes that less of an issue, but if I knit another one I would pick up fewer stitches for the underarm or do some decreases in the rows right before the sleeve ribbing to give it a nicer shape. Anyway, enough nitpicking; overall I'm very happy with how it turned out!

Nearing the end of the Cascading Kittens, so I thought I'd film a bit of it. Enjoy this glimpse of my stranded knitting technique and clicky-clacky of circular needles! :-D

Today's tea: Spark of Devotion, my blend for Violet Itzli, my Watcher in Pillars of Eternity. (How much do I love that I can just make blends for all my OCs and my friends' OCs on Adagio? You may get a hint of how much as more of them show up in these tea & knit posts... XD) Like all my blends for Eothasian characters, it's peach-based; Vi's blend consists of Passionfruit, Vanilla Oolong & Peach Oolong and it's as lovely as she is, and strong enough to get me through today's lesson planning.

Today's knit: The fifth row of kittens emerges, featuring the third shade of orange! Most of this sweater, by the way, is being knit in between loading screens and during voiced dialogues in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, and someday soon I really need to start making tea blends for that game, too...So, uh, if any of you play WOTR and have thoughts about what tea would best suit which characters, I would love to hear them! :-D

Today's tea: Teapostate, my blend for Iovara. It combines Passionfruit & Fiery Cinnamon Spice for the fiery preacher...and honestly, it's just Extreme Cinnamon Mode, as any tea with that fiery cinnamon spice blend will be. :-D (A close look at the teacup will detect a ring of cinnamon settling on the cup just above the surface of the tea...)

Today's knit: New yarns mean back to knitting the Cascading Kittens! I went with a nice light beige for the row after those grey kittens, but even that doesn't look like it's going to be long enough so I'm thinking I will shift from there into that nice warm yellow and if it still needs one more row, finish with the dark orange that is not quite the same as the fox-like dark orange in the first row of kittens up on the yoke.

Today's tea: Hold to the Purple and Gold again, since most of this latest burst of knitting got done this weekend at a two-day JCL board meeting. :-D Lots of stitches can be knitted while sitting around a table for many discussions of our plans for the year!

Today's knit: I'm on what should be the last color change of kittens...but I'm not yet at the 16" from the underarm cast-on that the pattern calls for. Hm. So I may cycle back to some of the other colors, or maybe just keep knitting these silver kittens for another round or something? I am liking how the color sequence looks so I'm not sure about throwing another orange/brown stack in there at the bottom. Maybe I'll see if there's one more shade of grey/beige in that yarn that could finish out the sequence, although then I'll have to wait for a yarn order to arrive...

No tea at the moment, but...the sleeves are off the needles!

And the kittens are having a final bath before the whole thing becomes wearable. :-D It'll probably take most of tomorrow to dry after blocking.

Today's tea: Blackberry Sage Oolong, possibly my all time favorite Adagio tea.

Today's knit: We have reached the full length at last! Now for a bit of ribbing at the bottom hem, then I just have to finish the sleeves.

Today's tea: Principi's Pick, my Serafen blend. It's Chestnut, Caramel, & Almond teas with cardamom & cloves, plus cornflowers for the blue cipher boy. :-D

Today's knit: A sweater mid-blocking! I like how the colors turned out, even though I'm now noticing all the little things I like less, like that MC cast on for the underarms (that really must have been a typo in the pattern, doesn't make much sense to cast on MC stitches but then knit the sleeves down from that point in CC...I did not think far enough ahead to catch how odd that would look when I did the cast on though, so oh well) and how I apparently forgot to bind off the waist ribbing in pattern halfway through, so the side you're seeing is bound off entirely in knit stitches...oops! I might actually like how that part looks better, but on the other side you can see where I set the knitting down with a bind off up to that point in ribbing and later picked it up and finished the bind off all in knits. No one but me and all of you reading this is ever to likely notice though. XD

As soon as it's dry (probably not today, that yarn soaked up half the blocking bath...) I shall weave in ends and see how it fits!
