Every time I think about environments, I always get caught up in Gloria's. Bc like I always picture her bedroom being bare like she's barely lived there, bc she hates being at home bc of Clara. But like the lack of personal items extends to even after she moves out bc she keeps things that are important to her on herself- photos on her phone, charm bracelet, etc. but she hides them. She hides behind the labels people throw at her and uses them as armor so people can't dig deeper and see how she is underneath. She's the toughest character that I'm going to have coming up with an environment for.
In a non-monogamous relationship with Liliana. She's a lot more emotionally open to Liliana than to any other person or crew member.
Practically has a deathwish. She tends to take unnecessary risks when it comes to even the simplest missions.
Always defiant to other's leadership, unless she respects them. It's extremely hard to gain her respect.
Most of her battle scars are from her Arch Frienemy, Kapu.
In her free time, she reads books about War History, War Strategies, and Politics.
She also nearly never stops training/working out. Most of it is out of being vain, but also because she feels like she should be in top shape since she's the leader of her crew.
Adali makes the rest of her crew train as well. She also induces a lot of trust exercises into their training. For the most part it works and makes members of her crew feel closer together.
Anti-any worship unless it's her.
Her ideal way to die would be by Kapu's hand because she feels that he's worthy of that.
She dies by an unknown enemy's hand while trying to steal a piece of treasure that could locate anything or anyone in the universe.
If Adali could talk from the grave, she'd be so upset and pissed off that she died in such a non-glorious way. She'd also wish that she could tell Liliana that she loved her and to please move on.
Liliana Knightly
She hides the fact that she loves romance novels and reads through roughly 3 books every week, and can recount everything from the books she's read.
She watches romcoms as well, but not as often. It's mostly for special occasions.
Despite her love of monogamous, dramatic romance novels/romcoms, she's 100% great with her relationship with Adali being non-monogamous. They disagree and fight at times due to differences of opinion or miscommunication, but they're able to talk it out.
She keeps a greenhouse room on the ship where she grows vegetables, flowers, and medical + flavorful herbs. She sells some of her flowers and recreational plants for some extra cash.
She has glow-in-the-dark fish in a fishtank in her room because she hates sleeping in the dark.
Post Adali: She tries to take command of Adali's crew after her death, but after a few months and the disappearance of Alice during a raid, she leaves the crew. Liliana changes her name and disappears. She settles down on a faraway planet as a herbologist and takes in lost travelers.
She never gets over Adali or her death.
Alice
She likes to talk big about how much she dislikes and rivals Liliana, but it's more of a slight annoyance. She finds her amusing at times and they actually get along quite a bit when they have to work together.
Alice is a horror buff, and loves everything that's bloody and gorey. She also watches a lot of vampire movies during downtime.
She has a stash of energy drinks/tablets/chews that she keeps in her room. It's why she seems to have a ton of energy compared to the other crew members.
She's always the one cleaning. It helps her clear her head. She even cleans and reorganizes other people's spaces, which causes some friction between them and her.
Alice always tips big when she's in any kind of food/drink establishment, and always stands up for the servers when she seems that they have dickish people to deal with.
Post Adali: While under Liliana's leadership, she's caught during a raid they had been conducting. Since she wouldn't give up the location of the rest of her crew mates, the planet's police ship her off to prison. She finds a way to break out after a year, and goes to find the rest of her crew only to find that they had disbanded. So, she tracked down Liliana.
Despite tracking down Liliana and leaving her after she found her, she ends up coming back and living with Liliana full time. They still have a bit of rivarly, but they get along very well otherwise.
Allison "Elly" Sullivan
Aromantic.
Still chest binds quite frequently. She finds it extremely comfortable.
While she uses female pronouns, she doesn't mind it when people use male pronouns when talking to her or about her.
Elly loves being called 'handsome' although its been a long time since anyone has called her that.
She wears flower crowns while she works. Very pro-flower crown.
Elly is never clean. Like she can take a shower and get all poshed up, but she'd still miss a spot and have dirt behind her ears or oil/dirt on her claws.
She always smells like oil and whatever cheap smelly stuff Adali throws at her to put on.
Post Adali: After Liliana leaves the crew, Elly follows her and lives with her for a while, but her need to wander gets the better of her. She leaves Liliana and ends up joining Nadie's crew.
She misses Teige a lot more than she's willing to admit, and keeps in contact with her as much as she can.
Teige Tykian
She's the only crew member to leave Adali's crew before Adali's death.
There are times when the ship doesn't have running water due to her defense mechanism kicking in. Therefore a lot of crew members always announce when they're around her so they don't accidently scare her.
She has cook books from different cultures in the galaxy and uses a translator to read them. She knows a handful of different alien languages and sometimes butchers the pronunciation.
At some point before Adali's death, yet after Kapu disappears, Teige and Zuri leave the crew to go after the Goddesses with some of their half-sisters to prevent them from experimenting and killing other alien species.
Teige is captured and nearly killed by a Goddess after they 'disabled' her defense mechanism, but is saved by Zuri.
After her adventure with Zuri, she decides to settle down on her home planet, Ithi. She never marries, but instead opens a restaurant and is very happy with the simple life.
She still talks to Elly a lot and sometimes sends her care packages with food that she's made for her.
After hearing about Adali's death, Teige holds a quiet prayer service on her home planet in hopes that Adali's spirit could move on to the afterlife.
Valdis "Val" Ryuuki
Being a recovering alcoholic on Adali's ship is a very trying thing. She always has to be in check with the temptation, and sometimes it makes her feels like an outsider with all the other girls.
She gets along with Zuri the most due to the fact that they both feel like outsiders.
Val is very self-concious of her whiskers and tends to hide them behind her hands when people point them out.
She keeps up on comedians and once ventured out on open mic night under a fake name. She wouldn't do it again because of the stage fright that overtook her.
Her cut from their missions usually go to charities or to buy food for the crew for Teige to use.
She's the hardest to get a gift for because she never wants anything. Most of her posessions are things that other's have made for her.
She has a collection of legwarmers and arm warmers that she tends to switch out at times.
The ring on her tail is a good luck charm from her mother that she got when she was a baby. There's legit no way that she can take it off.
Post Adali: Deceased. She died by alcohol poisoning.
Nova
She gets crushes on girls very easily, but never actively pursues them. She prefers that others try to capture her attention.
Other than singing, Nova loves to knit. Leg warmers and socks are her favorite things to knit. At one point, she'd knitted at least one thing for each person on the crew.
She also likes to sew quilts but hardly has any real time to work on those, and hasn't completed one since she was a teenager.
Post Adali: She's the first one to leave after Liliana and Elly leave. She finds her long lost brother and settles down so she can go back to singing in clubs. She gains a bit of fame and popularity.
She's the only one out of the crew to meet a girl, get married, and to have a family with them after being a space pirate.
Nova considers her space pirate days as her "acting very young and reckless."
Dyani "Dy" Suandera
Usually hides the tribe mark on her hand with a piece of tied fabric.
Has a collection of fancy scarfs and fabrics that she likes.
She smokes cigars from time to time and loves doing fancy tricks with the smoke.
Dy is very superstitious. Whether its from being an ex-priestess or from Suki Lin or a combo of both, she gets freaked out with talk about ghosts/spirits and anything supernatural because she believes that it is very real and doesn't want to bad things to happen by talking about them. She also doesn't talk about death often nor about any deceased person that she knows.
She has a ritual of always cleaning her rapier before any fight. She does it because of a old sea pirate saying on her planet that's about clean blades drawing new blood.
Dy has the highest pain and alcohol tolerance than anyone on the ship.
Post Adali: She joins Suki Lin and becomes his second in command on his new ship.
Nadie Tiocha
Born in upper caste society, but fought for the lower castes and for the eradication of the caste system.
In Hydorian society, losing your wings was seen as a "low caste" thing, so when it happened to Nadie, her parents got angry and tried to lock her up in the attic in a very Disney-villainous fashion. But she continued to sneak out to go to meetings and to see her friends.
Her parents were the ones who paid Adali to kidnap her, but they never actually paid her so Adali kept Nadie as her 'payment.'
Nadie starts out on the crew as a very quiet and scared girl, but soon becomes accustomed to the space pirate life and seems to enjoy it.
Adali eventually takes Nadie under her wing and starts to mentor her. She says that she sees a lot of leadership qualities in Nadie.
In her free time, Nadie can be found on the observation deck- watching the stars and reading philosophy books from different cultures.
She also plays strategy games, and comes up with some of the crew's winning strategies in real life.
She mostly drinks red and fruity wines.
Post Adali: After Liliana's departure, she goes back to her planet to find it not as she remembers. She decided to leave and to start her own space crew. Thenceforth, she becomes Captain Nadie.
Before she leaves to start her own crew, she has her "wings" updated. With her upgraded tech, she can now not also fly, but use her aura as a shield and as a weapon.
Kanti Cardinalli
Indecision plagues Kanti's decision process, which is why she's always on the fence of most issues unless she feels strongly about them.
She plays chess and strategy games with Nadie, even though she greatly prefers open world rpg games.
While she's not the pilot of the ship, she's one of the few members of the crew who has personal permission from Alice AND Elly to drive the ship if anything were to happen to them.
Her entire side of her room is just one big pillow fort.
Post Adali: She eventually finds her way back to her home moon planet. Only to find it completely devoid of life. Not knowing what else to do, she travels around restlessly until she gets a message from Nadie. She joins Nadie's crew as her #2.
She frequently visits Nova and has the name of 'Auntie Kanti' to Nova's kids.
Zuri Tykian
Asexual.
Zuri tends to be closed off to most people and has depressive episodes, and thus isn't very social with most of Adali's crew. She spends most of her time either with Teige or hanging out with Val.
Her self-esteem is very low but slowly gets better as she gets older and becomes more confident in her abilities.
Zuri's main personal mission was to dismantle the Sun Family. After it happened naturally, she set her sights on the Goddesses and their experiments.
Also, she started trying to figure out the rest of her half-sisters.
She frequently makes the crew cinnamon apple tea after a tough mission whenever she's on the ship. She does little things to help the crew relax to show her appreciation of them accepting her presence.
She rarely eats meat. She eats mostly vegetables and organic foods if she can.
She gets very blushy and embarrassed when anyone says anything nice about her. She has trouble taking compliments.
Sometime during her journey with Teige, she has her wings surgically removed.
She misses her wings, but is happy to be relieved of the pain they caused her. She still gets phantom pains every once and a while.
Post Adali: Joins Nadie's crew as a valuable and permanent crew member.
