-IMPORTANT FOR POTENTIAL COMMISSIONERS-
I have a little trouble setting the value of my own work. There are a lot of factors that go into it and often the amount of effort varies from piece to piece.
Therefore I want to start using the Cash Clock. It’s basically a timer that also calculates how much you should make per hour. So if I set it for $15 and I spend an hour coloring, the final price would be $15. If I spend two hours, that’l be $30.
I’m not a slow colorist, but larger/more complicated pieces take more time. This is to be expected and will be reflected in the price. A headshot with no background would not take very long. This picture was completed, sketch to color, within the hour. (The file properties doesn’t give me exact minutes so I don’t know how much shorter than an hour it was)
Obvious things:
I would not intentionally color any slower than is needed
I would pause the clock when not working
I would not lie about the final price (unless something forcibly reset the clock like an unexpected computer update, I would try and show a screenshot of the time+price calculation)
Thoughts on me adopting this new system of pricing?
