The day was a busy one. People were ordering things left and right, and the small restaurant was abuzz with talking people. It was hard to separate from the people who were trying to order and those who were merely talking to each other. Although it was a little stressful to keep up with everything without missing someone, Reager loved the sounds; it told him that people were enjoying the experience, and that's all that he could really ask for.
He looked to the door with a welcoming smile as another customer came in, and after swiftly walking over and somehow managing to find a place to seat them, he handed them a menu.
"Welcome! Our specialties for the day are on the board in front" He pointed to a decent sized chalkboard in the front with their daily specials written in a nice, looping handwriting. "Just wave me down when you're ready to order and I'll come right over. We're a little busy."
Reager gave a little laugh and the customer returned it, which gave him the signal to leave.
The man went back into the kitchen and began preparing other people's orders, tossing the rice in the pan in a beautiful arc-like motion with a flick of his wrist. It was a practiced technique that he barely had to put any effort into anymore, and quickened the process of moving the rice around so it wouldn't burn. He made so much rice nowadays that the only thoughts that went into the preparations were weather it tasted good or not.
The ding of a bell telling him there was yet another customer had Reager rushing out with the still hot pan in his hand, a bit of some kind of red sauce splattered on his face and his hair flipped this way and that because he hadn't had a chance to put it up.
He gave another smile, starting to get a little overwhelmed, but although the expression was disheveled, it still had the same kind of welcome.
Reager reached out for a plate with his free hand to put this rice on as he spoke.
"Just a moment-!" he started, before being interrupted by what he could only assume was the newcomer's words.
