the soft sound of whatever movie she'd put on for the two of them fades to merely background noise, for allie. while she's this close to çaska, it's impossible to not be distracted, the world turns around only the two of them. in the quiet, warm space of the apartment, it might as well be just them. the time spent here with friends is tender, and precious, and çaska brings with her a kind of mystery and allure that's impossible to resist, in addition to a softness that allie finds kindred. that, and allie can't stop thinking about the magic that the other girl has asked of her.
allie's scrolling on her phone, curled up next to çaska who is actually doing the right thing and watching the movie. despite her attention landing on the bright screen in front of her, she's quite nestled into her friend, her head tucked onto her shoulder the same as she had in the greenhouse. and, even as she looks somewhere else, she's still holding her in her heart, all the same.
çaska's touch is gentle against her cheek, sweeping a loose strand of blonde behind her ear. her eyes flutter up to meet the other girl's gaze, leaving the screen, to look at her with gently flushed cheeks. then, allie leans closer, showing her the picture of the ring on her phone. " look, it's a snowdrop. " she watches for çaska's reaction, curious, and tender. " whaddya' think? "
maybe she'd rather a necklace, or an earring, but allie thinks a flower wrapping around an elegant finger would be just as lovely- and even more special, knowing that someone had picked it just for her. because she can't help herself, allie keeps talking. " the flowers would have to be red, obvi', 'cause you know ... " there's a gentle crease between her brow. " it's a lotta' blood. " which is actually something that allie's worried about, but maybe if çaska isn't, allie shouldn't be, either. " but i think if you're wearing something for the rest of your life, it should be special. "
