honestly, sometimes I see something that reminds me of Hephaestus so suddenly and strongly that it brings tears to my eyes

I recently redecorated my altar and it feels so much nicer. it’s not there yet - I need a different frame for the sigil and I’d like to get a tray or something with legs to put underneath so that offering dish isn’t just on the floor, but it’s getting there! 

I have a feeling I’m gonna move things around still but taking everything off and cleaning everything and then replacing my dishes with new ones and putting down a cloth has really changed the energy around it for the better. that dark glass on the plate doesn’t live on my altar, it’s just what I was using at the moment

my altar space includes:

a sigil for Hephaestus in a metal frame with lava rocks draped around it

an offering bowl for Hephaestus with some small offerings to Him (a cinnamon stick, a carnelian, some rough twine, an embroidery needle strung with red floss, a small piece of meteor and another space rock)

a small dish where I keep my daily medication

a larger offering plate 

a small offering bowl with several small offerings to various Theoi

a small dish of dice and my pendulum

storm water I collected during our last storm (several months ago)

my knife

a small dark dish for Hades

a variety of raw stones 

that mug pictured in the back is typically in the kitchen with an offering for Hestia and not usually on the altar itself

I’ve been doing so much thinking lately and realizing that I want my Gods and my practices to be way more intertwined with my daily life than they are currently. I’ve been doing a lot of reading, a lot of thinking, taking notes, talking about shit with my partner

I’ve been working on celebrating noumenia the last few months (with mixed success bc of scheduling and depression, but not nothing) and I think I’m gonna work on setting up a little household altar and go from there? but since I started to make this decision, it’s really been bringing me a lot of joy and peace. I haven’t felt so connected, or able to connect, with my faith in a long time

it’s been a hot minute since I’ve hung out here, but I miss it. I also realized how much I’ve been feeling disconnected from and...ignorant? of a lot of aspects of my faith so I finally started putting together a devotional journal of sorts. it’s digital, since it’s easier on me to type rather than write by hand, and I’ve only just begun so it’s not nearly comprehensive or anything. I’m using evernote, and right now just have a notebook for general overview stuff including a calendar with basic holidays/festivals, a notebook for the theoi with a page for each with very basic info, there will be a notebook for non-theoi entities that are part of my worship, and some space for daily thoughts and prayers and notes

if anyone else has done anything like this, feel free to get in touch, I’d love to talk about it

having a pretty big brain spiral today and not doing great, but I just heard a peal of thunder (extremely rare here in seattle) and it was so grounding. thank you, Zeus
