It wasn't in Klaus's nature— or in his job description —to intervene. He was meant to watch Cassandra and any situation that would unfold with a safe distance, for she should forget about his present. But intoxication could count as harm to someone, right? He thought so, and it was what propped him into action. "Pardon, Cassie, but could I have a moment of your time?" he requested, thinking it would be easier to get her to stop drinking if she could be distracted with something else. Or if she didn't know that's what he was doing.
