I think the best way to put it is what one meta-writer said at the start of the season which is spot-on. She's "The Red Ranger" not like in leadership, though she has leadership qualities, clearly, but more in terms of personality. She's the one who gets fired up by their passion and never backs down. She's the person who's normally the main protag. Even Sugane didn't exactly fit that mark in S1, but Tsubasa does. And the reason the Red Ranger is the star... It's a relatable personality.

Rui like drives with Hajime, Tsubasa, and Sugane and then when they get there they just teleport everyone there.

Yeah, that's what makes me iffy about it. I'd figure Japan is quicker to respond to Earthquakes and similar situations since the occur more often in that general area and would be more equipped to handle.

hmmm yeah, i don’t know too much about this subject but i kinda googled a few things & i mean it seems like maybe? there’d still be a need for volunteers at this point in time? i have to think about it like, would this have been something that could have happened a couple months ago? since gcrowds takes place in july 2015, that’s only 2 months ago. but since it was such a large-scale disaster & japan is definitely still recovering, maybe? i guess i’d have to think about it more like what was happening in 2013, since that’s when the show was first aired too. hmmmm...

I read something that thought it was in reference to the 2011 Earthquake, but I'm not sure how fast Japan is at rebuilding since that've been about 4 years ago when the series starts

mmm yeah that’s what i thought it could be too! actually, now that you mention it, sugane might have mentioned something in sugane note about that? i’m unsure about that too, since what she refers to is something she definitely helped out at recently - she says she went “the other day” and shows a recent picture of herself. but that could definitely be a possiblity!!
