Just wondering on your position on non-binary Homestuck characters (E.g. epilogue Calliope and Roxy, Davepeta, the non binary friendsim trolls) (I hope this isn't a dumb question??Sorry if so!)

totally not a dumb question!! we are not epilogue compliant so for the most part we are using canon as a definition for what characters are included in this project. with that in mind, calliope and roxy are included and you are totally free to explore those characters as gnc or other identities like non-binary during the project! the heart of this event is really just to give love to the characters that are often shifted to the background in favor of the boys™, so we’re happy to include canonically non-binary characters like davepeta as well (i dont know enough about the friendsims to give any specifics there but consider this a thumbs up)

Oceanic Flight by Circlejourney ft. Lillie Blue Lennox

Here it is, my track for Songs from the Planet Earth, the SU fan album that dropped yesterday! The vocals are by Lillie Blue Lennox and the illustration is by @cassandraooc​.

I have been working on this since May last year and I’m excited to finally be able to release it! I’ve always loved Lapis’ story (as you can tell) and I really wanted to do a rousing, high-energy musical tribute to her. Enjoy!

To @cassandraooc who I got as my target for exalted secret santa - Happy our world’s equivalent of Calibration!

I fell for Jaxith and his gentle ways very hard. I mean, who would be able to resist Jesus dragon? I tried to go for something fairly angelic, maybe even something that’s less of how he is in person and more the image others get of him. You gave me a lot of freedom but as it may be, I rather like drawing this particular fairly androgynous type of body, so he ended up resembling his reference picture quite a bit.

I’m sorry the picture is a bit small and/or pixely, my art program crashed just as I was about to finish up and corrupted the file, leaving me with only a zoomed out screenshot of the finished product not yet scaled down from working size - and I’m going to be away from my drawing equipment for the rest of the month. Though the quality isn’t my usual, I hope you still like it.

Do you prefer alternative card suggestions/reasoning be sent in as an ask or some other method?

Feel free to send asks with suggestions, but bear in mindthat the current assignments were settled on by a team of over a dozen people(with experience close-reading tarot interpretations and history as well asHomestuck analysis) over the course of two months. If there is a character youfeel would be better suited for a given card, feel free to suggest it, butchances are pretty good that it has already been considered, as most cards wentthrough several iterations before the assignments listed on the blog weredecided.

Here are a few questions which were considered in eachassignment, and which you should be prepared to answer if you have an alternativesuggestion:

Why does the current assignment not fit the card? How is the newcharacter or scene closer to the card than the current assignment? (Cite yoursources, for real. We used a lot of online tarot resources as well as actual,physical real-world books.)

Is the new character not adequately representedin the extant deck? Why does this character deserve another card? Why does theoriginal character deserve one less card?

If the new character throws off the balance ofthe deck (i.e., if the character is already placed on 2 or 3 other cards, or ifthey are displacing a character who only appears on this card), how will theother cards have to be adjusted to compensate? You might have to rewrite theentire deck.

So, it has been colalb days at @homestuckartists and I teamed up woth @turntechtestament and @cassandraooc for a full sketch->lineart->color colalboration

these above are my parts sketched a jade, @cassandraooc lined it and @turntechtestament colored @turntechtestament sketched a super cool Rose, then I lined, and @cassandraooc colored  last but not least, @cassandraooc sketched that cute karkat, @turntechtestament lined and I colored
