Having spent a good chunk of his weekend researching the ins and outs of historical site designations, pulling strings and making calls, Rafael was happy to send Cassidy a text Sunday evening, asking her to meet him at the land that she had once called home. It would be a more relaxed place to meet than the stuffy office, at least, and give him a chance to give the property a once-over, as he had told the sellers he wanted to do. See it himself, hire an inspector to give it a look, and then make a final decision… but he was willing to do what it took to help Cassidy out.
Stepping out of his white BMW, Rafael shrugged his winter, casual coat more tightly around himself, glad that some sun had come out at least a little bit to keep them company. He was standing at the edge of the property line when he heard another vehicle, turning to face it and lift his hand in greeting.
