attending Bill Cassidy (LA-R)'s town hall today
its been a royal mess leading up to today. 1. He only sent mailers to registered republicans 2. His office would not confirm that a town hall was even taking place today and at what time NOR was it on his website 3. he scheduled it for this afternoon from 3:30-4:30 which is a problem mainly because its peak traffic time on a GOOD day. today's gonna be crazier because this evening is the is the kickoff parade (NYX) for the next week leading up to Mardi Gras. Nyx is an all female krewe which means a lot of women who are riding cannot attend. -obviously he's hoping people don't show because they'd 1, rather not be in traffic and 2, rather be at the parade across town 4. the Tea Party group here is attempting to block #Resistors from attending by making calls to the venue and Cassidy's staff (funny how they seem to get in touch with them) making claims that #Resistors are planning to protest and disrupt the event. There us a rumor that IDs will be checked before being allowed to enter. 5. the town hall is being held at the public library near me but its being held in a room that holds maybe 200 people. 6. I'm not very hopeful with this thing based on firsthand accounts from his town hall held yesterday in Livingston Parish
