Rosie loved her family, she really did. No matter how they felt about her, she loved them. It wasn’t an easy sort of love. Then again, nothing in the Maddox home had ever been easy. Always hard work and big goals and lofty expectations.
Now she sat in a restaurant alone, hoping that Cassius wouldn’t stand her up this time. She wasn’t entirely sure he’d meant the other time, at least. They were trying to be better with each other. When she caught sight of him, she tried not to look like it had made her whole day.
“Cass! Over here!”
