I’m not sure which is funnier, the possibility that he chose to rip his sleeves into pieces rather than roll them up, or the possibility that he was actually trying to roll them up, and the tissue-paper shirt just fell apart in the process.

I hope so - I kind of hope I’m wrong and someone else just plain beat me, although I think that’s immensely unlikely on the ‘best essay’ thing. But it was ‘we look forward to seeing you there anyway,’ and that, to me, sounds like I’m not getting one.

I’ve been killing them with tissues so far, but it doesn’t solve the one in my computer. It seems to have vanished off the screen now, so maybe it’s got out. I moved downstairs and shut my window so they’re not bothering me so much anymore.

Thank you! Yeah, it’s a real problem, you spend all your time second guessing and feeling a bit silly and lost and skiddy-on-ice-feeling.

I still haven’t found a word for that feel, when you feel like you’re wearing a pair of shitty shoes on the social ice and your metaphorical feet are going everywhere and you feel like you’re lurching wildly for balance.

Thank you! I have a place to live next year pretty much all sorted out, it’s not ideal but it will do, so that’s one thing off the Freakout List.
