Some ST people really need reservation
(i went for a summer camp at a social organisation in a remote village. Those adivasi need education. We also met a guy who was the first doctor from that area. I had a cold and I went to the hospital and a couple was sitting there. The wife threw up 7 times since morning but couldn't leave work or else she would have missed that day's payment. Not to mention they had to work in bear prone area. So thats when I learnt that some people do need reservation. Just saying this because your top post is about a ST getting IIM at low rank)
I completely agree that few people genuinely need reservation but NOT EVERYONE OF THAT CATEGORY.
When reservation was introduced, most people of those categories were BPL and reservation was understandable that time, that they need some government support to grow.
But now I can guarantee you their economic situation is improved.
I am not totally against of reservation but I feel this anger when I see two students, one of general category, one of reserved ones, having same financial condition and still one of them is getting privilege.
Reservation is necessary but not on the basis of caste at this point. Reservation should be based on the income. Those who are BPL will get reservation and the others will not irrespective of their caste.
But the reservation is still given on the basis of their caste and I am against of this.
Not all people from those reserved caste deserves reservation.
