the mikaelsons are ancient bloodline of silver storms, older than even the calore burners.
their mother comes from a bloodline of silver telky’s, not as old as the mikaelsons, but far more powerful.
all the mikaelson boys are storms, with the exception of niklaus, who doesn’t share the same father as the rest of them, and inherited his father’s oblivion powers.
the oldest mikaelson sibling, freya, was born a telky like their mother.
rebekah mikaelson presented as a storm, and she is considered one, but her mother’s telky abilities mixed with her father’s storm abilities in rebekah, giving her much more control and accuracy over the storms she conjures --- frighteningly, deadly so.
rebekah likes the ice queen aesthetic, and how well it fits her light blonde hair and sapphire eyes, so she’s learned to specialize in storms of snow and / or ice, but she’s also good with lightning, hurricanes, and even earthquakes, which is unusual for storms.
rebekah has been competing with evangeline since birth ( rebekah is only seven days older ) but mikael could never manage to sell rebekah to the king, leaving her one step behind evangeline until the queenstrial, and rebekah’s magnificent power was put on display where she could not be ignored, and she stole evangeline’s crown right off her head.
rebekah’s story follows similarly to evangeline, where she starts out engaged to cal, but the mikaelson’s loyalty is with the crown, so she then becomes engaged to maven.
