Castiel One Shot

Since Cas says he doesn't technically have a birthday and you firmly believe everyone deserves a good birthday you have to find a way to make things work. 

You had met Castiel almost a year ago while you helped your good friends Sam and Dean Winchester out on a hunt. (Your mom and their dad were both crazy with the idea of yall growing up to be hunters) Castiel and you had became very good friends after that hunt. He seemed to be drawn into you teaching nature when it came to things of this world he did not understand. It was not surprising to you for him to show up at 2 in the morning in your hotel room during a hunt to ask you about something he had heard Sam and Dean mention. You were always so patient and helpful in explaining things to Cas. So it wasn't surprising to have Cas poof into your condo kitchen behind you while you were taking a cake out of the very small condo oven. "Hello Y/N." Cas spoke. "Hello Cas" You said as you laid the cake out to cool. "I wanted to ask you... Wait what is that smell??" Cas said sniffing the air. "Vanilla cake" You take a deep breath. "Nice huh??" "Yes very nice huh" Castiel said as you snicker at his response. "What was it you wanted to ask Cas??" You said as you sat down at the bar on a barstool and gestrued for him to sit down beside you. By the time you had finished talking to Cas your cake had cooled and you had finished icing and decorating it. You placed the cake infront of Cas "Happy Birhtday Casitel" He read aloud. "But I already told you that..." "I know I know " You interrupted as he looked up at you. "Its just I think you deserve a Birthday Cas... I mean you live and when I was explaining birthdays to you last month you seemed really interested. Soooo I thought I would give you a birthday celebration even if it is kind of... small." You give him as a smile as he looks at you confused. He gets up slowly after a while of thinking and you giving him time to process what was going on... He walked over to you and you stiffened... What is he doing?? You thought to yourself... Cas touched your cheek very gently with his hand as he leaned in and planted soft warm kiss on your other cheek. You blush madly and look at him in shock. He smiles sweetly at you. "Thank you Y/N."

(Oh and when he eats a piece of your cake he says that they are the best molecules he had ever tasted :P )

Anon request: Can you do an imagine where the reader is trying to teach cas to be like a human and it ends with lots of fluff and cuddles? It would make my day :) xx

One thing you had noticed since Castiel had become human was that he wasn't really getting the hang of many things, for example even brushing his teeth had caused no end of trouble. He had thought it would be a good idea to squeeze half of the tube of toothpaste onto the brush and then proceed to stick it in his mouth and chew it. Something had snapped inside your mind after you witnessed this, and you decided to help him become a little more human.

"Hey Cas, wotcha' doin'?" you were perched precariously on the kitchen worktops in the bunker, swinging your legs and smiling up at Castiel. "Good afternoon Y/N, I was just trying to turn the...er oven on." You tried to muffle the laughter that was rising in your chest as you observed him poking several buttons on the oven's control pad, resulting in a shrill loud beeping sound erupting from it. Castiel jumped back, "Y/N is it supposed to do that?" You shrugged in reply and jumped down from the worktop, "Never heard it do that before, I think you may have set the stop-clock off Cas, ya' silly." Cas just looked at you blankly for a few seconds, before letting his shoulders drop and a defeated expression taking over his features. "Being human is... Is very hard." Your expression softened and you walked over to him, gently placing your palm on his cheek, rubbing the pad of your thumb over his coarse stubble. "I'll help you Cas don't worry."

About ten minutes later, you and Castiel had decided to make a pie for Dean. Both Sam and Dean had been out all night hunting a nest of vampires, obviously they hadn't let you go. As Dean put it you were left to 'babysit Castiel'.

It had gone well up until trying to make the pastry for the base. Flour had gone absolutely everywhere, not to mention all over you and Cas. You had sat and laughed for well over five minutes at the puzzled expression on Cas' face as he tried to get rid of the flour, only it resulted in getting even more spread within his hair. Pulling him over to you by his tie, you gently began to wipe the flour off of his face with a wet towel. When you had finished, you placed a small kiss on his nose and shot him a completely goofy grin. "There ya' go would you look at that, beautiful Castiel is back." "You think I'm beautiful Y/N?" A blush blossomed over your cheeks, "Maybe." Cas tried to copy the goofy grin you had given him a few seconds ago and leaned over to kiss you chastely on the lips. "Dean said I should kiss you if I think you look pretty." "Oh did he now?" Cas just nodded, not looking you directly in the eye.

The rest of your afternoon was spent by his side, occasionally bumping hips and smiling warmly at each other. It was clear Cas was trying very hard to impress you and not mess up in any way, which made you fall a little more in love with him by the second. When the pie was finally in the oven you turned to him, your hand outstretched ready to high-five him. You giggled at his response which was to take your hand in his and press his lips to it. "Castiel you are quite the gentleman." you wanted to just burst out into peals of laughter at the utter silliness that had surrounded today. It was something neither of you ever got to experience, tranquility just wasn't a feature of a hunters life. So maybe doing a trivial activity such as baking would help Cas to become more human than he realized.

When Dean and Sam returned a few hours later, they found you wrapped up in Castiel's embrace, a hushed silence filling the bunker. The pie was neatly presented on the table and a bowl of salad stood by its side. You shifted in Cas' arms, peppering his neck and jawline with small kisses. He opened his eyes bambi wide and shot you a lopsided smile of content that nearly made you melt right there. "If I have you Y/N, perhaps being human isn't so bad after all."
