I just think that everybody should calm down about Sam Claflin *more than likely* being cast as Finnick.
- People complain that he's British: Heath Ledger was Australian but he did English AND American accents pretty well, hell I can do an American accent and I'm no trained actress. Plus, he can go to trained experts to help him with an American accent if needs be - so not the end of the world.
- People complain that he's not "muscly" enough: Never heard of a gym my friend? He'll have to go into training anyway for the fight scenes and he can build up his physical appearance AT A GYM.
- People complain that he does not have green eyes: What, were you expecting to find someone with these perfect sea-green eyes who's a brilliant actor and looks just like Finnick? On ANY actor, contact lenses would probably have been used to make the eyes as special as they should be. Robert Pattinson played a vampire who was supposed to have gold eyes, BUT NOBODY HAS GOLD EYES SO THEY USED CONTACT LENSES.
- People complain that he is not "tanned": Two words: spray tan.
- People complain that they've "never heard of him": Well damn, nobody had ever heard of Johnny Depp at one point and look at how loved and amazing he is now. Just because you haven't heard of him doesn't mean he can't act.
- And finally, the stupidest reason, "he doesn't look like Finnick", okay so does anybody ACTUALLY know what Finnick looks like other than Suzanne Collins who had an image of him in her mind? You never know, although her writing is great, it may not have done justice to the character she invented. Everybody has different ideas of what he looks like.
To be honest, the casting directors know a hell of a lot more about talent than we do, and Suzanne Collins knows what she wants Finnick to look like and if it's Sam Claflin it's Sam Claflin. I think he's good for the role, I've seen him in other films and there's 100% positivity that he can play the 'romantic' side with Annie and he could probably also play the tough side - just because he hasn't been in a film in which he DOES play a tough character doesn't mean he's not capable.
So yeah, please just calm down, it's unfair to give him all this hate when he's not even been given a chance. Plus it's only a rumour so like chill out guys x
okay so Sam has another movie that he's doing so how can he be finnick STOP IT WITH THOSE RUMORS
