After finishing both castlevania anime, i can nocturne was a lot better and fixed most of my problems with the first. It has its problems, but its really fucking good and Richter and Annette are really adorable together.

Fluffy Castlevania Nocturne Headcanon (featuring my OC Richette son Tayo): Annette grew her hair out as the years went by. Her long locs almost reached her waist. Her baby son Tayo was absolutely entranced by his mama’s hair and always grabbed a loc in his chubby little hand. Annette chuckled and said, “You like my hair, baby boy? All right. This strand is just for you.” 🥰
One bit I appreciate about Castlevania Nocturne the animation is how it deals with the caveat of, the world is at stake but the only people responding are this small group of locals, by not doing that — even though it's embracing a fantasy kitchen sink.
First it established that gods can die, to explain why there isn't a a divine army amassing instantly.
Even though the setting is such that vampires tend to be the primary supernatural force people have to deal with, the setting just gives the other pantheons tied to that to explain why they know about obscure vampire stuff anyway.
A vampire serving the new global threat was right at where the Yoruba pantheon had priests and descendants on the ground, so the second this escaped vampire makes his future joining that new threat they know.
The vampiric incarnate?host? of another remote pantheon's god of learning hears whispers of a vampire messiah due to being a vampire himself, so he physically goes over there to check out what's up.
I just wish more fantasy stories would do that when there's a world ending scourge, with a bunch of gods from other regions barging in going, hey, what're you cooking here? Would especially fun in settings where the gods can act more directly.
In a Modern Day Castlevania Nocturne AU, Tera would be the type of mom who buys a bunch of cute onesies/outfits for Baby Maria (for example, a kitty cat onesie that makes Maria look like Byakko)
