The word "detachment" doesn't mean that you turn cold and no longer care about another. Rather it means that you learn to care from a place of perspective. When you are able to detach, you have the ability to maintain an emotional bond of love, concern, and even deep caring, without emotional devastation, rescuing, or controlling.
