Oh darling, I can never get sick of Catstarion!
This sways away from Catstarion a little, ironically, just because I wanted him to be vulnerable - Shock horror! (also let's Gale get under his skin, which I am a sucker for)
I hope this is okay!

Astarion is 100% the type of guy to get jealous, but he would never admit it to anyone let alone himself.
His hackles were raised as soon as you invited Halsin to come and join your party, more so when the wood elf set up so close to his tent in perfect proximity to draw your attention away from him each night as you made your rounds.
It had become commonplace for you to settle yourself on one of the pillows outside of his tent each night in your cat form to rest in the warmth of the fire when the others resigned themselves to their own activities before sleep.
It was an unspoken arrangement that the two of you would sit silently, Astarion occasionally running his fingers through your fur while he read.
You can imagine his irritation when he went looking for you one night when you were missing from your usual spot to see you curled up on top of a sleeping bear's back, the two of you passed out, your small feline body rising and falling gently as the bear snored - and loudly at that.
If anyone was close enough, they would have heard him hiss a little in dissatisfaction under his breath, his top lip curling upwards in disgust at the sight. That druid had been nothing but trouble since the day he arrived.
It wasn't that he was jealous, it was just a break in routine. And he had grown quite fond of the little routine you had set up - it was a nice change from not knowing what Cazador had planned for him night after night.
He would sit with his book with a huff, pretending to read but shooting angry looks from under his brow as if looks alone would wake you up and pull you to his side.
Things become drastic when it happens again the next night and the night after that. While you had treated him no differently during the day and would still follow him on some of his hunts - both as cat and human, the nights were becoming lonelier.
As it kept happening, there was only one thing he could think to blame it on - he had not continued to be intimate with you as he once had. He was more than aware he had dialled back the lustful comments and touches in favour of the softer moments the two of you had begun to share... perhaps you were just tired of waiting.
Why else would you be so insistent on cosying up with someone so attuned to 'enjoying the freedom of nature's gifts'.
.
"You're pouting." The statement would have been irritating enough without it coming from Gale. He shot the wizard a crude look before looking back to his embroidery beside the fire.
"I am sure I have no idea what you are talking about."
Gale would only hum with a knowing look in his eye, crossing his arms as he observed him.
It only took a minute more before Astarion would put his stitching down again:
"Hypothetically, if I was to transform again, do you think they would notice?" he would refuse to look at the wizard as he chuckled.
"Probably."
"Is that really the best you can do?"
"I'm not doing it again."
Astarion would finally look up at him, panicked and a little angry, mouth agape
"Have you considered just asking them why they have changed their sleeping habits?"
Of course, he had, but he didn't like the answer.
"You're useless as a wizard." he would turn away again, going back to his sewing.
"I take that as a no," he would chuckle back. "For someone over 200 years old, you are not very wise."
He would just ignore him, probably getting up and stomping back to his tent.
Imagine his surprise when he stumbles into you, curled up in your usual spot as if nothing had changed.
Astarion is nothing if not petty, however, and would promptly ignore you, pushing into his tent without so much as a forehead scratch.
Raising your head, you would look at him confused, your anxiety growing as he didn't come back out.
Eventually, you would shift back into your human form before pushing the tent flap to the side cautiously, softly calling his name when you spot him lying turned away from you.
"What's up?"
"Nothing."
"For a rouge, you're terrible at lying."
"Why don't you just go back to our bear friend. He seems to be far more satisfying company."
You were taken aback at his words, realising at last why he had been so cold towards you over the last few days.
"Oh god, no Astarion, that is not what is happening."
He would sit up at last, his eyes filled with hurt as he looked back at you. Even in the dim tent, you can see how his red irises shone a little with the beginning of tears he refused to let fall. Your heart broke at the sight.
"I was giving you some space! I thought I might be encroaching on your personal time every night. After 200 years, I thought you might cherish some time to yourself. Halsin offered me some company - friendly platonic company - in the mean time. It has been so long since I was able to spend time with one of my kind."
You could tell your sincerity was not what he was expecting, but he could tell you were being honest at the very least.
"Well, stop it. I don't want personal space. Not from you, at least."
The relief he felt when he saw you smile and nod lightly, knowing that he hadn't lost you after all and, more importantly, you hadn't become bored with him withdrawing his advances.
You spent that night and every night from then on settled in his tent with him, finally dozing off beside him but this time (and for the first time) in human form, tucked safely into his side.
what is the rest of the party’s response/reaction to catstarion/druid!tav x astarion sort of mildly being a thing?
I generally think it would be mostly positive!
I already touched on Gale being thrilled to see his friends happy. This man is a hopeless romantic at heart, so seeing Tav and Astarion happy only serves to cheer him up - it probably even gives him some hope he will be happy one day too, even if he has to admit to himself that that won't be with you.
Karlach loses her mind when she sees the two of you cuddled up together both in human form and especially as cats when Gale finally agrees to polymorph Astarion again. It is no secret that she adores Astarion as a friend (I think they relate so much to one another's trauma) and wants to see him happy, so the fact it is with another of her closest friends just makes her burst with excitement daily. She would defo third wheel a lot unintentionally.
Shadowheart, Lae'zel and Wyll would probably be a bit indifferent to it all, if not slightly confused at how their 'tree-hugging' leader decided to saddle up with the spawn of all people. Seeing him satiated and content assures them to some degree that he can be trusted, however, so it is generally a win-win for all. Shadowheart would be lying if she said she didn't sometimes smile to herself at the sight of you curled up in his lap while he sewed, though.
Halsin just wants in on it all and you know it ;')
I am so glad so many of you related to and loved my little Astarion x cat!druid!Tav blurbs. Hearing so many people say that it relates to their game play and their personal headcanons is so heartwarming - especially when I wrote it really self-indulgently at first and didnt think people would be all that bothered.
