DP Idea
Danny has recently learned he can full on shape shift, because op plot reasons, as usual. In order to get the hang on this power, he decides to train it by shifting into a small animal form, so its nothing eye catching. He settles on a cat since cats breeds are mostly the same size.
This would have all been well and good, except his parents barge into his room one day having picked up "Ghost activity". Except all they find is Cat!Danny. His parents come to the conclusion that Danny was hiding the cat from them because he wanted the pet. Against their better judgement, they decide to let pretend hes hiding the cat from them, because taking care of the cat might teach him some responsibility.
Danny let's himself have the win, but knows he gonna have to play it up that he hes hiding a "cat". Shenanigans comense as Danny asks his parents for name suggestions for a "short story", and "accidentally" buys cat food instead of tuna, or Tucker "accidentally" whispering about (instert cat!Danny's name) only to be hushed by Sam as they all scramble up the stairs. One day Danny even duplicates himself so he can "sneak" Cat!Danny, poorly hidden in his jacket, outside for some fresh air.
Jack and Maddie have one thought as they watch their son "sneak" a bag of of cat litter into his room. "Wow, our son sucks at hiding things from us."
