Hi! First I'd like to say that I always find your blog helpful and awesome! I also have a small question ... I've recently bought Putumayo's Cat Window skirt (black background with white print) and I'm totally lost when it comes to coordinate it. The black and white colorscheme makes me completely afraid to look ita. Thanks for your answer!
Just be careful to balance your colors and use pieces with quality materials, those are the two places black and white coords can go wrong. Since there’s no lace on the skirt and the white all comes from a print you’re already in good shape. Since the skirt has black as the base and white as the accent I would try to keep to that throughout the coord. Other base pieces like your blouse and socks could be either black or white but if you want to use a black blouse I would also use black socks because if you used white socks I feel it would look too top-heavy. I think the most basic way to wear it would be with a white blouse, black or white white socks, black shoes, and a hair accessory that combines both colors (again with black as the base and white as accents). There are a ton of different things you could do with it though. If you’re feeling adventurous you could even add another color. Pops of red or dark blue might be nice, I’ve even seen it with bits of gold. Take a look at my blackxwhite tag for some examples. I also talk a bit about black and white coords in this article.
