Day 2168 - 18 June 2017
Cat #04

@catriona-the-witch
Imogen wasn’t planning on joining the town for every mini event of their spring fling. It wasn’t her type of event, and given this town’s track record, there was just no appeal. But then two things happened: her sister said she was going, and Cecile was put down. In her humble opinion, she thought the town’s council should have held off before making the decision; perhaps spent some time gathering the opinions of the victims of the woman’s wrath before deciding her death. To Imogen, death seemed too easy. But that didn’t matter now. The bitch was dead, so the town was supposedly safe again. Except, she’d seen her share of TV shows. She knew that when one big bad went down, another always sprung up in it’s place. Given the town seemed as if it was picked right out of a CW show with all it's crime and drama and supernatural beings, she figured she'd at least keep a bit of a guard up for a little while longer. Give this place a chance to earn back it's 'safe' title post-Cecile before she bought into it. So when Kitty told her of her intention of attending, Imogen decided to suck it up and go too, if only to keep an eye on her.
That’s how Imogen found herself at the Town Square that Saturday. She’d decided to take advantage of the foot traffic and had set up her table for fake tarot card readings again. Like she hoped, she’d managed to make a decent amount of money scamming people. But with the softball game starting up soon, most of the foot traffic was headed to the softball fields, and so the witch decided to pack up her stuff for the time being. She’d just finished putting away her deck when she spotted it. That damn flash of red in the corner of her eye. A flash she’d become indifferent to within the last few months. From the corner of her eye, she watched as the red inched closer to her. Logic told her that Cat wasn’t walking to her. Imogen was located on the edges of the Square, near where most people had to walk by in order to reach the fields. People were passing by her in groups for the game. Cat had to simply be walking by her then. She knew that had to be the case. There was no reason for Cat to start to go out of her way to talk to Imogen now all of a sudden. Logic told her that.
So, Imogen didn’t have to acknowledge the flash if she didn’t want to. She could just keep her back towards her and let it come and go. But for once, Imogen decided not to let the witch walk on by without a word. “Headed to the game?” She heard herself ask as she spun on her heels to face Cat once she was close enough.
