As you all know, I've been visiting family last week, so I hadn't been able to have as much time with my computer as I had before. But I'm back home now, so I'll be back to my normal schedule of posting and doing admin things. That being said, activity checks will also be a thing again. I know quite a handful of us had been very busy with life in general, so there had been quite a slump in activity these past couple of weeks.
Here are a couple of things to note:
The activity check break will end Wednesday, May 17th. Anyone who has not posted on their accounts or has not contacted the main by the 17th will be unfollowed and their roles reopened. The regulations for activity checks will continue as normal after the 17th.
I will also plan to start a plot drop toward the end of this week as well, so activity is essential to get the plot for the group rolling [finally].
EDIT: The submit box has also been reopened! So any new applications can now be submitted!
I also want to say thank you so much to everyone who has stuck around and waited through this crazy time for everybody! Your patience is very much appreciated.
The opening event has now ended! Which means now is the time for the Victors and citizens in The Capitol to go about their lives either in the Victor's Village or the Capitol itself. Don't fret, though, you guys will still have another 24 hours to wrap up any event threads your character is in. Just refrain from starting any new threads at the Victory Tour Celebration.
To get a better feel for the Capitol, I compiled a small list below of what life in The Capitol is like for Victors and Citizens alike. This should make it easier for you guys to write up starters and think up more plots between your characters. And of course as the plot develops, some of these may change depending on the events that occur. If you have any questions, please ask!
The Victors live within The Capitol in a Victors' Village built exclusively for them. It is a gated community closed off from Capitol citizens, unless they are invited. Doctors, Peacekeepers, Escorts, and other higher status Capitolites may enter without being invited inside.
Each Victor has their own home in the Victor's Village, much like the set up of the Victor Villages in the Districts. President Coin requested the Victors' Village be built within The Capitol to keep the Victors close. The houses are large and extravagant, fit for a Victor to reside and call home.
Much like the other Victors' Villages, Victors are allowed to have family and friends from their home Districts living with them in the Victors' Village.
Each citizen, whether they are a Victor or not, has a schedule that is tattooed onto their arm each morning. There is a machine each citizen sticks their arm in and the schedule shows up on their arm, much like in District Thirteen. They are to follow this schedule accordingly and if they fail to do so, they will be issued a warning by the Peacekeepers. If the lack of discipline persists, then the offending citizen will be taken into custody.
Said schedules mostly pertain to the citizens' occupation, making sure they are all doing their part in The Capitol. Victors are mostly scheduled to shoot propos, commercials, interviews, therapy sessions, go to galas-- anything that President Coin requires of them.
Travel between the Districts is allowed. However, special permission has to be granted by the President herself, and the visits never last longer than 48 hours upon arrival into the District. This privilege can be taken away if the citizen or Victor in question had not been following their schedules or they have a criminal record.
Citizens in The Capitol aren’t as outrageous about their style as they had been before, mostly since citizens from District Thirteen had integrated themselves in with the Capitol citizens. That doesn’t mean the extreme body modifications and fashion sense has completely faded from The Capitol, however.
A list of Capitol and rebel jobs can be found here
Just wanted to make a quick post about activity this past week and the next week to come. As you may have noticed, I haven't been around much this past week and I apologize. I had to move to a new apartment in a very short timeframe [it's a long story] and I'm also getting ready for a week long trip out of state for a whole week-- May 7th to May 13th. I will be bringing my laptop with me, however, I'm visiting family and they come first, so activity may still be scarce on my end. That being said, it doesn't mean I won't be checking in on things still. There are a couple things I wanted to mention before I left for my trip, so you are all in the loop:
To be fair for my absence, I won’t be doing activity checks until after I return Saturday, May 13th. This past week was finals week for a lot of you, and with people moving [including myself], I would feel like a hypocrite if I was penalizing people for not being around when I would be absent, and that just wouldn’t be fair in general. Still, don’t let that deter you from posting and continuing any threads/plots you guys have been making! I may have chances in the early mornings or late evenings to be online and to get replies done and answer any questions that may come up.
That being said, I’ll be closing the submit box temporarily on the night of Saturday, May 6th until my return Saturday, May 13th. You guys can still send in asks to the main and I’ll do my best to answer them when I can, but I will not be checking over new applications while I'm on my trip.
I will be posting an event sometime within the week of my return, so be on the lookout for that! In the meantime, again, this next week will be spent with characters getting to know each other and plotting things out! If you have any questions at all, please ask!
