Have you ever heard the term "Cataplectic tics?" I went to a Tourette's camp a couple weeks ago and the medical staff and a few counselors were using it to describe what I'd usually call tic attacks. I can't find anything about it on the internet and I was wondering if you've ever heard it before?
Cataplexy is an entirely separate disorder that has nothing to do with Tourette’s and I’ve never heard anyone in the TS world use that term before. I guess they’re using it in a descriptive sort of way, because cataplexy is essentially paralysis/severe muscle weakness triggered suddenly, so a tic attack can seem paralyzing and sudden in the same way. But medically speaking, the two disorders have nothing to do with each other.
