The story starts when I found a kitten towards the end of the summer and decided my first cat, Yogi, could use a friend. Yogi has become a much more social cat thanks to the new kitten but, Pusseidon, the new cat, is a bully! Over the last few months Pusseidon has grown to over twice the size of Yogi, a trait I thought just made him unaware of how intimidating he can be. Alas, I was wrong! He knows exactly how intimidating he can be and he uses it! He's a straight up little ass hole now and the other cat is scared of him. To add to the story my sister moved in with me and brought her cat, tootsie and her bunny, Pupu with her. Now Pusseidon has taken up stalking the bunny and pouncing in tootsie's head. Then I started noticing that Yogi was beginning to look stressed. Not the Han kind of stressed with lots of sighing and pulling out your hair, but close. Yogi began to lose some fur and she wasn't looking as shiny and soft as usual. She then started to look painfully skinny and I couldn't get her to eat anything. One day I forgot to put out wet food before leaving the house and had to do it when I was home that night. I put out three bowls with the cat's new grain free (expensive as shit, I might add) cat food and walked away. When I turned around I saw Yogi eating and immediately thought that maybe she just hadn't liked her old food. Maybe she has expensive taste, I thought. Just as I was about to walk away again Pusseidon had finished his food. He ran at Yogi, who looked terrified and then stepped on her head so she would move out of the way of the food. He then attempted to eat all of her food as she walked away looking defeated. At that point I told him he was a little bastard, picked him up and tried to distract him so Yogi could come back and eat. She didn't even try to come back. It was then that I realized that Pusseidon was essentially starving Yogi while I wasn't home. I felt so guilty for not noticing sooner. Now I try to feed them their wet food when I'm home so I can monitor them and make sureYogi is eating. It's impossibly hard to get Pusseidon to eat slower and not take the other cats food. However, Yogi is slowly gaining weight, getting her beautiful Maine Coon fur back and is back to purring and playing. Hopefully, soon all will be right again in her little cat world and maybe I can teach her to stand up for herself and her food against cat bully, Pusseidon.
