memories of mirrored dreams

[The light that fell through the leaves, sticky and golden and wearing the name of autumn in every of it's breaths, illuminated her hair, set it on fire, burned her. Burned as she had, an eternity ago and just months at the same time, another life and yet the same person, another world and yet the same thoughts.]

[Susan didn't remember much of it, most were fragmented dreams of a place that seemed different, of places so wide and open and of a longing in her soul she could not understand, she didn't know about.]

[She liked the park, for reasons she couldn't explain if she wanted - if anyone would ever ask the young female why she spent so much time in it, she would not have known, and just smiled at the person with a look of confusion in her eyes. Right now, the thing found in her eyes was a mere smile as she sat below an old tree, leaves as colorful and bright as the children's laughter she watched.]

[Somehow, those sounds stung something in her, some regocnizing, but she couldn't point as to why this was.]

[Her smile grew a little more distant, pencil scratching over paper on her lap - and suddenly stopping.]
