Oh, yes! That works even better! Because Jenny would find him, thinking things could be all great and fantastic but she realizes he's not the same man anymore.
Actually, maybe this plot could be how we get my Jenny into your New Gallifrey plot? She lets his insults and remarks get to her, so she gives up trying to prove her worth to him and does it in the only way she thinks will work and that's joining the Cause.

Where he hates her and doesn’t think she’s his daughter? Well, Docc-y would be perfect for that.
Probably not as intense as hating her, but definitely doesn't want her around, reminding him about his actual children that he lost. I can sort of see her trying to prove herself to him, but he just won't budge. It's like how he was saying she was just an echo, but ten times worse and it gets to her at the end.
