Reposted from @norman_parkinson ‘All Systems Go! - Space Age Beauty Equipment To Put You Straight In Orbit’ was the headline caption to this amazingly choreographed photograph by Norman Parkinson. He arranged five models including Ann Roberts and Cath Herbert with 17 futuristic beauty treatment tools. • The largest featured item is an electric Stauffer Massage Couch which was available for hire in London. Through vibrations it could be used for spot reduction, and was available to hire at 4 guineas a week from Electric Medical Hire at 82 George Street, with door-to-door delivery and supervised installation. • The photograph was published as a double page spread in the 22nd of May 1962 issue of Queen magazine, with the shoot taking place a few weeks before on the 2nd. The location was Carlton Artists Studios in London’s Great Queen Street, which was founded as a commercial studio in 1902 by Canadian artists Archibald Martin, T.G. Greene, Norman Mills Price and William Wallace. • #normanparkinson #iconicimages #annroberts #cathherbert #queenmagazine #spaceage #1960sbeauty #1960sphotography #1960s #carltonartistsstudios #greatqueenstreet #archibaldmartin #tggreene #normanmillsprice #williamwallace #eugenelacroix1 @eugenelacroix1 https://www.instagram.com/p/B_0CHmqnrEl/?igshid=1r9uebiiq00gk
