Hey, I saw how on a recent post of yours you stated that you're super against letting cats outside. And I'd just like to ask why exactly? Because I have 2 kittens and live in an apartment building on the first floor, so we were sort of planning on putting a sideways ladder up so they can go outside via the balcony and stuff. Cats are naturally clean animals and love being clean!!!!- Easier litter box training.- Don’t track other diseases/dirt to your other animals.- They can die outside……- They have shorter life spans if they live outside.I know a lot of people THINK that cats NEED to be outside and they NEED to hunt but they don’t. If you have proper enrichment in your house then they will be perfectly fine and can hunt all the toys they want and even hunt mice in your house because it honestly happens. Proper enrichment includes lots of toys, scratching posts and places for them to climb on to and survey, a cat tree if possible!!! It is important to always play with them every single day! I know this may seem like a lot of money but animals cost money! That is the blatant truth of it and it’s important that everyone makes sure they are financially able to help their companion animals to the best of their ability. I know different situations are tough and you don’t need to give them a 5 star cat tree that is 100feet high with 932 caves but it’s important that you play with your cats!! Not only will that build a relationship, they will be healthy and not be so energetic and scratch your furniture etc.  Another common misconception with cats is that they sleep all the time so they don’t need exercise and while they do sleep a lot they need exercise! Whether that be taking the time out of your day to play with them for at least an hour a day or having toys and enrichment that they can use and enjoy. Please keep them inside anon!!! Other people however could run up to them, could try to scare them, could steal them, ANYTHING. I know on Halloween they even tell people to keep their cats inside because people do ritualistic shit on them. I would be terrified having my cats outside, alone without me and having people do whatever they want to them. 

So if you TRULY love your cat why the FRIG would you ever want them outside, unsupervised when they can do the following:- kill birds and rodents which are detrimental to ecosystems and habitats- get hit by a car- get stolen by someone- get scared by someone, have someone pull their tail- have someone just HURT YOUR PRECIOUS BABY- get fleas, rabies, get into fights with other animalsTo me that is animal abuse. That is you, being a lazy and ignorant owner and just getting a cat for fun and realizing that they need lots of enriching activities to keep them happy and healthy so you don’t do it. That is you just saying “oh yeah just put IT outside and have IT run around and tire itself” because YOU are lazy and can’t just get them a cat tree or PLAY WITH THEM WITH A FUCKING STRING FOR AN HOUR. You cannot tell me that “some cats need to be outside” NO. Absolutely not. All cats are different in terms of energy levels and you just need to play with them and give them love and affection so they are happy and healthy and love life. IF they love the outdoors (like BOTH of my cats do) you put them on a leash or supervise them outside in your backyard for like 45 minutes to an hour so they can get their fix in. Cats like to sleep they don’t need to be outside running around for hours on end give me a break. If you cannot do that then do not get a cat because guess what pal? It is a living thing, with living requirements and isn’t just a pet you can just have take care of itself. It is a companion animal.
