I heard you do cat grooming.

My short hair cat is shedding alot due to the summer moult and is sadly causing hairballs.

Is the Furminator curry comb good for deshedding shorthair cats?

I have one already but I want to know if it's effective or not.

I don't have much money (unemployed currently), but I heard equigroomer or sleekez have a deshedding comb thingy that's great.

But if the curry comb is not bad for deshedding, I don't want to waste over £20-30 if I don't need to. But I also want to he able to remove the shed hair to avoid Zoe swallowing so much.

Honestly i dont use curry combs (though I do have one) because ive always preferred an equigroomer over them so I just reccomend equigroomers or sleekEZs. I just find most cats actually like equigroomer brushing over curry combs and the benefit is that the equigroomer will remove undercoat thats shedding and is less pulling than a silicone or rubber curry comb.

Generally my workflow for shedding short hair cats is: go at them with an equigroomer until i get as much as i can off, then I use a carding comb. I have a cheap one I use here:

I use the small one and its so effective at getting shedding fur out.
