A Cat's Love
I have a cat. I got her about a year and a half ago. We've always been very close. She follows me just about every time I leave the room. Every time I take a shower, I come out and find her sitting outside the door. Same thing when I leave the house. I always come back to her either sitting by the door waiting for me to come back or her running to the door knowing I'm home. Some times she sleeps on me, weather it be at the foot of my bed, next to me in my arms, on my neck, chest, back, under my blanket, or even on my face. As I am writing this, I'm laying on my side and she is laying on my hip. She doesn't lay with me regularly, just a few times a week. Tomorrow is my first day of school, and I'm upset about having to leave her at home alone for most of the day. I never left home that often during the summer. I liked being home, drawing, playing video games, or just being with her. She's not really use to me being home so long. I feel like she knows I'm leaving tomorrow because when I feel asleep, I woke up a few hours later to her cuddling my neck. I eventually turned so that she was laying beside me, and we stayed like that for awhile. Then she crawled onto my hip and is currently sleeping there. Like I said, she doesn't do this that often, she normally lays on my windowsill next to my head. But tonight she's finding every possible way to sleep on me. I think she know I'm leaving tomorrow and I feel like she doesn't want me to. She's known me her entire life, I'm the one she grew up since she was 6 weeks old. I love her and I know she loves me. It's not crazy or impossible for a cat to love someone. That's what a lot of people think about cats. That they are just these mean creatures that hate everything and don't know how to love. That they're just these fat and lazy animals that only love us for food. All that is a huge lie, and honestly the stupidest and hurtful thing I've ever heard. Do you what the ancestors of cats are? Lions, tigers, panthers, leopards, all domestic cats came from these fierce and strong cats. That means there is a little bit of wild cat in every domestic cat. Anything and everything is capable of love. Cats may show it in a different way or they might not think you've earned it yet. Unlike dogs, a cats's love is so much more valuable than a dog's love because you have to work for it. Some people may see it as a bad thing but it's not. Any dog will like you instantly, and hey, that's great. I have nothing against dogs, I love dogs. But to me, their love just isn't as special as a cat's. If you work for a cats love, and you love them and they love you back, you know they truly love you and have a special place in their hearts. They'll know that you stood out in their life and they'll love you forever knowing that. This is why I love cats more than dogs. They are these quiet and smart creatures with a lot of wisdom. I didn't mean for this to be so long, but I wanted to put my point out there. I want people to see this and just understand cats. That they are just as good as dogs. I hate hearing people say that they hate cats because they're mean and bite and scratch and hiss. Some people even say they wish all cats would die. It's terrible. Maybe it's not cats who are the mean and heartless ones. Maybe it's all the ones who hate them without giving them a fair chance
