I’m not a house pet, My instincts control me

I don’t lay or beg, I rush and push against the grain

I listen to commands, I sit, I bite, I charge, I herd

I guard the weak, My handler throws me scraps and allows me to wander

The prey are protected, the predators I kill, I’m loyal to my man, I owe him everything

I’m a working dog, herding, hunting, retrieving, caring for my herd, while my owner keeps me off a leash, and knows I’ll return back to him when let loose.

last fall when i worked on the farm previously, i had to get up around 5 to feed and let the animals out [i wouldn’t be there to let them out later in the morning]. i was half asleep, not paying attention..and those fucking goats..let me tell you.. one of them [leo] literally chewed at my pants and tripped me, i had to wrestle with him. hes stupid and big but it was so much fun. I was literally covered in mud, even my underwear?? I was confused how it got there but the mud was everywhere anyways. I successfully finished my task after huff.
