I think his undisputed masterpiece is Pēdīcābo ego vōs et irrumābō, a poem with a first line so offensive that most people probably don't pay attention to the rest of it. But they should, because it's not just about threatening to sexually violate his critics. It's also a personal statement about Catullus himself and how the things a creator chooses to write about don't have any relation to their moral virtue as a person.
