in today's news: genocidal god freed from thousand-year imprisonment, fucks up everyone's day
I've been doing some reflecting and realized that the Echoverse kinda has like. two types of antagonist/"villainous" character types that I don't really stray from
-- like it's either a villain where their circumstances or their nature is the catalyst for their actions (though certainly not a justification for them). they're not evil per se and though they might spiral deeper into meaningless cruelty as time takes its toll, they often experience remorse for their actions. Glass is a great example.
SILKTHROAT AND CAUSALITY, ON THE OTHER HAND,
ewww euuurgh I hate that guys
No one has challenged the golden king of the Ghao'Morragh for nigh on six hundred years, now. His army grows restless, and yet. Rumour -- long since cemented into legend -- tells that those who raise weapons against his image are soon found dead, always with two neat fang-marks in their neck, their veins ashen with venom.
There are no mortal serpents in the Hollows.
It is very, very difficult to kill a god.
