Yep. In an interview before season 4 aired with Sophie Decroisette, one of the head writers for the love arcs in the show, she talks about how they were forced to cut back on the romance to appease the American audience who prefers action.
Ngl I think the story improved when a lot of romance was cut out, but the writers should’ve at least been allowed to finish the romance arcs in the end like they wanted to. It’s not fair to them, and it makes the ending seem kinda sloppy.
