Caustic Convergence
"I have business to attend to. You will be on your own until I return."
The merchant had left after that. No word of how long he would have to wait for him. No freedom in his leave. The Batter was to sit and wait, hoping that whatever 'business' Zacharie had would not take too long or be postponed any further.
He was good at waiting, at least. Something he could do without much complaint and left him harmless for the most part. The Room was secluded from the rest of the world outside. Even though all of the Zones were purified and his Mission would stay at a stand still until his Player returned to him. Despite the painstakingly long hours he has already waited, he was not going to go back on his word to her. Anxious as he may get while left to his own thoughts for so long, the Switch felt like it taunted him. Some days were bearable. And there were also days where being trapped in the Room gnawed away at his spirits.
The purity doesn't know how long it's been since Zacharie has left the file, but he does know that--even though he does not require it--he feels as thought it has been much too long without going out and consuming some form of essence. Unable to use his inventory here was ridiculous but he had no way of getting around it. Without Zacharie around to provide what little he needed or to let him out of the Room (as though he was some child to be kept under lock and key)... He could do nothing but wait. Unfortunately, his patience was wearing thin.
After a while of being on-edge about the merchant's return, the purifier eventually gave in to his silent rage over the man's unspoken promise to return soon. Unable to tell how much time has passed, it could have been days or weeks that he was left impure.
Through many of his 'tantrums', more marks were added to the already-loitered walls. A long time has passed. Had Zacharie simply forgotten about him? Impossible. But it was getting hard to regain any sort of coherent thought when the only thing on the creature's mind was to get out and consume any purity it came across until it was ready to put itself into a sleep coma.
