Honestly I watched the first episode of the anime and I'm already like. Shut up Taichi.

Outside of karuta matches he’s pretty unbearable throughout, but I don’t start reeeeally judging people for shipping them until post-anime.

I also wrote a bunch of Simoun/Roman history meta so clearly responding to my post is the best way to relax.

Ahahaha yesterday the doctor told me to take it easy so I played Dnd over Skype for four hours. Maybe I'm not the one to be taking advice from.

I read all of that and it’s very interesting, but I haven’t seen Simoun, so I have nothing intelligent to add. I can always reply “cool analysis” or “wow! interesting!” if it makes you feel better about it though lol

When I was laid up with pneumonia last January I pretty much stayed in bed and watched anime all day. Well, and did a bunch of class prep for that next semester. That’s when I watched Mawaru Penguindrum (I’d suggest you liveblog while recovering, but that’s probably the opposite of relaxing!) and Serial Experiments Lain for the first time. DnD does seem like potentially too rousing of an activity when recovering from an illness, but what do I know, I clearly don’t know how to relax either. :P

Honestly, watching anime and drinking tea is exactly what I do with my downtime as well, so you’re probably on the right track.

Glad to know I’m on the right track to relaxing. :P

Though, I’ve been staring at rhinestones on ebay all evening and trying to calculate the area of a long-sleeved leotard in square inches so I know what my rhinestone density will be...guess I’m not actually /that/ good at relaxing.

1. Mamiina from Simoun (I like Yun better and identify with her more but she’s not as ~expansive~ a character; Mamiina is an almost preternaturally good character and is almost-objectively the best thing about the show)

2. Lúthien Tinúviel from the Silmarillion (Galadriel sometimes has this spot)

3. Sam Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings (split from the Silmarillion even though they’re not really separate fandoms so that I could list both him and Lúthien; Galadriel or Treebeard sometimes have this spot)

4. Anastasia Filippovna Barashkova from The Idiot

5. Mireille Bouquet from Noir (Chloe is the best character but Mireille’s the one who fascinates me most for some reason)

6. Pippa Cross from the Gemma Doyle trilogy (which one shouldn’t confuse with thinking she’s a good person)

7. Sakura Kyōko from Puella Magi Madoka Magica (I haven’t given Madoka much thought in quite a while now and it’s declined a bit in my estimation but Kyōko is still the best)

8. Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter

9. Cordelia Flyte from Brideshead Revisited (who has a lot in common with Yun, I think)

10. Katsuragi Misato from Neon Genesis Evangelion (sometimes I’m fonder of Asuka but, as with Mamiina and Yun, Misato is more ~expansive~)

Maybe the story she told about the boy who drowned in the last episode? Could be relevant.

I’ve always been pretty puzzled by that honestly - it clearly foreshadows everyone forgetting about Utena even though she made such a difference in their lives, but it just comes out of nowhere and is so specific that I feel like there must be more going on, especially with choice of having Juri tell it, and I’m... really not sure what that “more” is.  I think Juri understands Utena a lot better than any of the other duelists do, and I think she understands that the roles of prince and princess have serious flaws and that if Utena tries to be a True Prince it’s not going to go well, but... then what?  A good reason to try to delve into it, I guess!

I find that when it freezes up, I don't need to restart my phone, but just the pokemon Go app. May or may not work for you.
