Hello, followers, if you’re still there! I’m really going to try to post more, it’s just really crazy right now because my dads in the hospital and has been for 104 days now. This is not a sympathy post, it’s simply an explanation. Long story short, he has the largest brainstem cavernous angioma in the books. If you don’t know what a cavernous angioma is, it’s a benign, vascular, brain malformation that in this case, is hereditary. Anyway, he had 3 major brain surgeries (one of those was emergency) to get the giant bugger out of his brainstem, 2 minor brain surgeries, the first one to install a shunt to drain extra fluid in his brain into his abdomen, and the second to add an extention to that, and lastly, an emergency surgery to remove a clot in the cerebellum that bled 22 ccs. A corneal transplant was needed the same day due to a defecit that he had from the brainstem cavernoma; not being able to close his eyes. Aaaand an issue with low platelets, aaaaaand pneumonia, aaaaaaand a pulmonary embolism, aaaaaand a clot in both arms, aaaaaaand a clot in both legs, aaaaaaaaand pneumonia again. When you have a clot, they normally give you blood thinners to dissolve the clot, however, when you have 8 masses in your brain that are at risk for bleeding, they usually don’t, but they’re giving him blood thinners anyway because it’s not going to dissolve on its own and its probably causing him pain as well. So there you have it, the reason I haven’t been posting. Well, I’ll be posting more soon! Prayers/good vibes are appreciated! ♡-blue0ctopus (Theresa)
